Our History |
Nestled in the beautiful countryside of Kent, Rams Hill Ltd carries on the ambience of family and commercial community with our ongoing caring relationships we forge with our clients.
In 1906 the site of Rams Hill Ltd belonged to Walter Couchman who moved there with his family from the local forge. Walters son Ted took over his fathers business on his retirement in 1935 and included two manual petrol pumps due to the transport changes of the times from horse and carriage to motor car. Ted began servicing cars and installed to electric pumps in the 1940’s. Teds son Alan then took over the ongoing family business in the 1960’s and added garden and estate machinery to his trade. Alan stopped selling petrol 100 years after his grandfather had originally moved into Rams Hill, Alan took a well earned retirement when he was 70. We are the second owners since Alan retired and are proud to continue his good work and continue to have an ongoing relationship with him and the local agricultural and horticultural community too. |
